Veritas Analytics and Center for Terrorism Preparedness Partner to Address Domestic and International Security Issues

Dulles, VA. USA, February 16, 2004 - Veritas Analytics, a Global Business Consultancy firm and University of Findlay - Center for Terrorism Preparedness, announced the establishment of a partnership to address both domestic and international security issues for both government and commercial clients. Initially the two organizations will focus on supply chain and operational security practices. Recently Veritas and The Center for Terrorism Preparedness collaborated on the development of a course designed to assist those interested in becoming members of the U.S. Customs and Border Security, Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. The course 'An introduction to C-TPAT' was co-developed by Veritas and The Center for Terrorism Preparedness and is offered in both the US and international venues.

The C-TPAT course comes out of an emerging need within the international business community that participates in trade and commerce within the United States. Ben Vattelana, Commercial Services Director for Veritas stated "The course is designed to assist organizations involved in trade within the United States in meeting the requirements established by the U.S. Customs and Border Security C-TPAT office." Mr. Vattelana went on to note, "Attendees to the course will gain greater insight into C-TPAT membership and its requirements but also enhance their awareness to potential vulnerabilities to terrorism. The course will be taught by prior customs and law enforcement officers and security professionals and offers those in attendance industry best practices in securing their organizations supply chain."

The 'Introduction to C-TPAT' course is the first of a series of courses and initiatives planned between Veritas and The Center of Terrorism Preparedness. Eric Qualkenbush, Director of Center for Terrorism Preparedness cited "In addition to this introduction course others planned are designed to address the operational security needs of all organizations. The Introduction to C-TPAT is an open enrollment for manufacturers, importers, licensed brokers, air carriers, sea carriers, air freight consolidators/ocean transportation intermediaries, and marine port authority/terminal operators.
